Satpol PP Deploys Divers at Flood Area

The prediction of rainy season peak in the capital will take place from January to February 2015. To minimize the life loss, Satpol PP Jakarta will deploy a team of divers around the flood affected areas.

"We will deploy rescue team such as the diver team. If there are drowned people, I can instruct my people to look for," said Kukuh Hadi Santoso, Satpol PP Head at City Hall Jakarta, Monday (12/22).
Santoso continued, Satpol PP disaster rescue teams are spread in all regions. Each team consists of 10 personnel.

According to Santoso, besides the divers team, his side also prepared the fleet of 485 personnel and logistics trucks in locations which affected by the flood. Then 15-20 of the total number are operated as the logistics vehicle truck.
Public kitchen car and inflatable boat will be also provided in the flood location.
"The car can be opened as public kitchen. In each region has two units and all of it are ready to use. The inflatable boat also the same, 10 units are ready in the location," he uttered.
Santoso added, in the flood handling of capital city, Satpol PP personnel act as reinforcements on the field. Therefore, the capital flood management led by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Jakarta and other relevant agencies.
